We regularly review videos produced by other agencies or in-house. The same mistakes crop up time and time again, and they’re costly: a “pretty” video that doesn’t generate any appointments is an expense, not an investment.
1. Talk about yourself instead of talking about the prospect
“We’re an innovative company founded in…” Nobody cares. The first few seconds should focus on your customer’s problem, not your story.
2. Wanting to say everything
A video that lists twelve features doesn't make viewers remember any of them. An effective video promotes one strong idea—and only that one—the one that leads to a meeting.
3. Neglecting the script in favor of aesthetics
Motion design enhances a good script; it never saves a bad one. That’s why every project we take on starts with strategy and writing—never with animation.
4. Forgetting about sound design
Sound conveys emotion and rhythm. A video without sound design looks amateurish, even with flawless animation.
5. Don't end with a call to action
Your viewer has got the message, they're convinced… and the video ends with a logo. Tell them exactly what to do: schedule a call, try the product, or request a demo.
